25 | On October 22, 2026, at 10:25 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with Director Lindsay Clow. The Child Day School is licensed to serve a capacity of sixteen (16) school-age children. At the time of the inspection, no school-age children were present. The facility consists of one (1) school-age classroom and operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. LPA toured the interior and exterior of the facility with the Director to conduct a health and safety inspection.
At 11:30 AM, LPA reviewed the sign-in sheets and verified that no children were signed in at the time of the inspection. LPA reviewed the facility records and verified that all individuals subject to a criminal record review had a clearance or exemption and were associated with the facility. At approximately 11:40 AM, LPA inspected the one (1) school-age classroom. The classroom had an adequate supply of play and learning materials and was neat and organized to promote learning. Floors, rugs, and carpets were clean. Furniture and equipment were age-appropriate for school-age children and maintained in good repair. The facility had adequate heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and lighting. Individual storage space was available for each child. The designated isolation area for sick children was the Director's office, located away from the other children in care.
At approximately 12:15 PM, LPA reviewed one (1) child's file and did not review any staff files. The child's file contained Personal Rights, Medical Consent, Parent's Rights, and Identification and Emergency Information forms. At least one staff member responsible for opening or closing the facility had a current CPR and First Aid certificate.
The facility was equipped with a smoke detector, a functioning carbon monoxide detector, a telephone, a pull-down fire alarm system, first aid kits, and multiple fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers that met State Fire Marshal standards. LPA tested the carbon monoxide detector in the classroom and verified that it was functioning properly. Disaster drills are conducted at least once every six (6) months, with the most recent drill conducted on September 9, 2026. All required documents were posted in a publicly accessible area.
