32 | According to the allegation, a daycare child ran out of the family child care home into the street without supervision. Additionally, the complaint alleges two daycare children were playing in the facility driveway and neighbors driveway without supervision. Complainant also expressed concerns that children in care were able to walk around the neighborhood unsupervised.
During interviews conducted by LPA, there were no disclosures of children in care being left unattended or unsupervised. Licensee and Assistant stated there is always someone supervising the children at all times while in the front yard, on walks, etc. Licensee stated the children do play on the facility driveway and facility yard, and have gone to the next door neighbors driveway on occasion for a brief moment. Licensee states that when the children have gone to the neighbors driveway during outdoor play time, they were immediately called back to the facility driveway and there is always someone in the front of the home watching and supervising the children at all times. Parents interviewed stated they are satisfied with the care and supervision of their child/children while at the facility and have never observed the daycare children walking or playing in the neighborhood or outside of the home unsupervised. Parent #3 stated, "There is always someone with them when they go out". Children in care interviewed stated the daycare children are always supervised whenever they are inside and outside of the home.
Allegation: Licensee did not prevent an adult from smoking on the premises
The complaint alleges a family member who is not fingerprint cleared, visits the home and smokes marijuana in the driveway when daycare children are present in the home.
During interviews conducted by LPA, there were no disclosures of anyone smoking on the premises. Licensee and Assistant stated no one smokes on the premises. Parents interviewed stated they have not observed anyone smoking on the premises of the home. Parent #1 stated, "Esther (Licensee) does not like smoking and would not have anyone smoking there". Parent #2 stated, "Trust me, my child would tell me if someone was smoking because it is their pet peeve". Children in care interviewed stated they have never seen anyone smoking in at the daycare. During interviews conducted, parents, and children in care made no disclosures that Licensee's unfingerprint cleared family member was observed at the facility during daycare hours.
