On July 26, 2022 at 10:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susann Sanchez conducted an announced inspection at the facility noted above and met with Licensee, Cynthia Taylor. The purpose of the inspection was to conduct the pre-licensing inspection for a Change of Location. The Licensee is requesting to operate a Small Family Day Care Home (up to 8 children). The operating hours would be Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Licensee stated she will offer after hours and weekends if needed only. Individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted.

All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This facility is a single family home that consists of three (3) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, detached garage, backyard, and front yard. This home has no "off limit" areas.

All areas were inspected for safety, comfort, heating, cleanliness and telephone service. LPA did not observe any fireplaces in the home. LPA observe (2) wall heaters that are located in the living room and in the dining room. Both wall heaters are gated off. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are made inaccessible. Knives are located in a high cabinet and other cleaning products are located in the closets in the hallway. Licensee was advised that if any poisons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock.

Per Licensee, there are no pets, firearms, weapons or bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed age appropriate toys and napping equipment for children. LPA observed electrical outlet covers throughout the facility. LPA observed the required fire extinguisher (2A-10BC) that is fully charged and purchased on 06/10/2022. Licensee was informed to have the fire extinguisher serviced yearly. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. A First Aid kit and emergency supplies are available and located in the kitchen. Licensee was advised that if food is brought from the children’s home, all containers must be labeled with the child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated.
