25 | On 11/16/2021 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Robert Gutierrez, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensees, Yvonne & Arturo Loera. Also present was Adult #1 (A1). Days and hours of operation are Monday- Friday 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the play room, dining room, kitchen, living room, hallway bathroom and the fenced back yard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. Walking to the hallway bathroom LPA observed bedroom #1 door open and unlocked. LPA inspected the bedroom and did not see any potential hazards to children in care. Mr. Loera closed and locked the bedroom door making this bedroom inaccessible to children in care. Inspecting the backyard LPA observed a play structure, trampoline with mesh netting and a sandbox. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of door locks and children safety gates. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition in the home. No poisons were observed during the inspection. LPA inspected accessible kitchen drawers/cabinets and observed chemicals such as Clorox, Oxi-Clean, hydrogen peroxide and “Goof Off” carpet stain remover underneath the sink. Inspecting the bathroom LPA observed “CRL”, windex and various lotions in an accessible cabinet. Mr. Loera removed all these items and placed them in the locked garage.
The fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a glass screen and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Stairs are not fenced or barricaded when children under age 5 years old are present. Ms. Loera stated a children safety fence was located at the base of the stairs but kept falling over. Licensee then removed the fence but did not install another one. During today’s inspection Licensee installed a different child safety fence at the base of the stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (408) 612-6995.
