LPA measured seven classrooms (1, 3, 4, 8, 10(MPR), 11, &12). Total indoor activity space measured at 2481.16 Square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested overall capacity of 70 preschool children.
LPA observed a total of 11 sinks, 7 toilets, and 1 urinal in total within the preschool classrooms. Changing tables are located inside the restroom next to room #4. The total number of sinks, toilets, and urinals are sufficient to accommodate a capacity of 70 children. There are separate restrooms equipped with a toilet and a sink for staff.
As indicated on sketch, facility’s outdoor space includes playground - 1 Sunshine, playground 2 Nature, playground 3 - Playful Patch, and playground 4 - PPP Garden Walk. LPA inspected and measured playground 1 and 2. The total outdoor space for preschool children was measured at 8876 square feet, which accommodates 70 preschool children. According to the Director, playground 3 and 4 are in the plan to become the playground for the toddlers, which would be convenient for the toddlers to have their own separate play ground with age-appropriate equipment.
Based on today's measurement of indoor/outdoor, and number of sinks and toilets, the facility does meet the requirements for the capacity of 70 preschool children.
Facility has an approved waiver to allow 10 toddler option children to share Preschool play yard.
The following correction is needed prior to the issuance of the license:
1. Rooms 10, 11, & 12 need to be ready for child care use. Licensing staff observed hazardous items in room 10 including paint, the pantry cabinets are not lock and there are chemicals/sharp items inside, and the outlets are not covered in rooms 10, 11, & 12.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16.
