Staff handled child in a rough manner

During the investigation, LPA Habtom toured the facility, conducted observation and interviewed those pertinent to the investigation. It was alleged that a staff member handled a child in a rough manner. Interviews revealed that a child was giving a staff member a difficult time so the staff member tried to escort the child to the director’s office. As the staff member was doing this it resulted in the child being pushed into the director’s office. Based on the corroborating statements taken from witnesses the department has found that the allegation that a child was handled in a rough manner to be SUBSTANTIATED: meaning that the allegation is valid because the preponderance of the evidence standard has been met. Licensee did not follow reporting requirements.

During the investigation, LPA Habtom toured the facility, conducted observation and interviewed those pertinent to the investigation.
