25 | On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at approximately 1:10 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing, met with Licensee Detria McIntire, to conduct a Case Management inspection for the purpose of increasing the maximum capacity from 8 to 14 children. During the inspection there were three infants being supervised by the Licensee and one assistant. All individuals subject to criminal record background check have been cleared.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection of all areas accessible to children. Off limits areas: Bedroom #1, Bedroom #3, kitchen/laundry area, detached shed, and detached studio. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. During today’s inspection, LPA approved Bedroom #2 and attached bathroom as well as entire fenced outdoor area for child care.
The Fire Safety Inspection Clearance was granted on 03/23/2023. CPR/First Aid certificate is current and expires 04/09/2024. The posted License, Parent's Rights, and Emergency Disaster Plan are being maintained by the Licensee. Hazardous items were stored in the off limits laundry room, inaccessible to children. Per Licensee, there are no firearms in the home. Fire extinguisher (2A10BC), pull alarm, carbon monoxide, and smoke detector meet regulation.
The outdoor area used by children at this time is fenced and age appropriate toys were observed. The Licensee understands that 100% supervision is required in any unfenced areas. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee understands that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed changes. During the inspection Licensee informed LPA that the back fence would be moved four feet back to increase the outdoor space on April 7, 2023 while no children are in care.
