25 | On 3/22/24 at 9:00am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patrick Ma and Renita Rodriguez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs identified themselves and provided their badge to Licensees Bakhmala Wazir and Abdali Mir Ajam Khan. Also, in the home was adult daughter Salma Mir Ajam Khan and 2 minor children of Licensees. The one story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. There were no children in care. Licensees stated children were in care during the morning.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include main living room, kitchen, front bedroom and bathroom. During inspection, Licensee’s requested to removed front yard from license. Off limits areas include rear 2 bedrooms, hallway bathroom, garage and backyard and are inaccessible through use of doorknob covers. Only 2 stuffed animal toys were observed in facility as toys and equipment available. There is a nearby park that Licensees stated they will take the children to for outdoor activities. Licensee understands that supervision is required at all times during outdoor activities.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. Hazardous items including prescription medications and cleaning compounds were accessible to children during care in the morning. There is no body of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. First Aid and CPR certifications expired on 2/21/23 and will need to be renewed. Licensees are exempt from Mandated Reporter Training as their primary language is Pashto. Children’s and Staff records were reviewed.
