25 | On 1/26/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanson Leong made an unannounced required visit to the Family Childcare Home listed above. The LPA was granted entry by the Licensee, Joanne O'Neil. The licensee was informed of the reason for today's visit by the LPA. Present in the home included the licensee, licensee's’ son, licensee's daughter (minor). During today's visit, there were no children present in the home
.
During today’s visit, the LPA observed that the licensee's family childcare home was no longer set up for childcare. The LPA noticed that there were no children's toys, play areas, or any other equipment necessary for childcare present in the home. When the LPA inquired about the situation, the licensee informed that she had not had any children in her care since the end of July 2023. She expressed her desire to close her daycare effective 1/26/2024. The licensee provided her physical license to the LPA.
The license of the above facility is forfeited pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 1524 or 1596.858, effective 1/26/2024. The reason for the forfeiture is:
Licensee is no longer interested in maintaining a license.
Forfeiture of your license does not deprive the Department of its authority to take legal action against your license. (Such legal action is warranted in some cases).
Please be advised that once your license is forfeited, all provisions of care and supervision must cease. You need to reapply and obtain a new license if you wish to operate a community care facility again.
