32 | Three parents (P1-P3) were interviewed on 8/5/25. P1 reported that their child did not follow their normal sleep schedule when attending the facility and stated they are concerned the allegation may be true. P2 reported their child made a comment about taking vitamins to go to sleep while at the facility. P2 also reported that the licensee allows the older children to play quietly while the younger children nap. P3 reported no concerns of the licensee providing medication without parent consent.
Three children (C1-C3) were interviewed on 6/5/26 and 8/11/26. Two children spoke with LPA Cunningham on 6/5/26 and shared comments about their time at the facility, including activities, meals, and the daily schedule. These children did not report being given vitamins or feeling extremely tired. C3 stated that the licensee gave them vitamins described as gummies before naptime, which caused the child to feel sleepy upon waking. The child also reported that they did not like how it made them feel. Additional children were not interviewed due to new children being present under the summer schedule, and the previous children in care were not in attendance. Several children were in care for their first day.
On 6/5/26, LPA Cunningham toured and photographed the facility. LPA Cunningham did not observe melatonin. On 9/09/26, LPM Pacheco toured the facility and did not observe melatonin.
Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Galvan. Appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
