How to read violations

Nearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.

Paperwork — records, postings, forms Standard — supervision, ratio, training Health & safety — direct risk to a child

Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.

746.305(a)(4) — Report Outbreak of Communicable Illness

“A caregiver tested positive for covid-19 on 7/14/21. She was last at the operation on 7/9/21. The operation did not report this to Child Care Regulation since it had been 5 days since exposure. It was explained to the operation that they must still report this as required in the Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers. The operation was using the information they received from Collin County Health Department regarding what they consider to be exposure; however, the information still stated on the instructions "to check in with Child Care Licensing" even if it is not considered exposure by their definition. The operation has reported all new cases since that time.”
