How to read violations

Nearly every licensed provider accumulates some. A missing signature and an unlocked medicine cabinet are both “violations”, and they are not the same thing. Look at the class, the pattern over time and how quickly it was corrected — not the count alone.

Paperwork — records, postings, forms Standard — supervision, ratio, training Health & safety — direct risk to a child

Class is our grouping of the state’s own weights, reviewed per state. The agency’s own label is always shown beside it.

746.1613(a) — Reduction of child/caregiver naptime ratio by 50% allowed, If 13 or more children in care, children are 18 mo. or older and other standards met

“During a walkthrough, a classroom with a specified age group of 12-17 months was observed during naptime with only one caregiver and 9 children. Ratios may never be reduced for infant children and infants are any child under 18 months. This was corrected at inspection when a second caregiver was asked to step into the classroom.”
